WORLD GOVERNMENT SUMMIT

DUBAI

Inspiring and interactive exhibits to inform and trigger new thinking and connect with innovators on a global stage.

The Mohammed Bin Rashid Centre for Government Innovation was established to stimulate and enrich the culture of innovation within the government sector through the development of an integrated innovation framework.

The World Government Summit 2017 in Dubai challenged visitors to think in new and counter-intuitive ways about how to solve the most pressing public challenges of our time.

The 2017 Edge of Government experience was centred around open questions that policymakers need to be able to successfully navigate to break new grounds. Throughout the immersive journey, visitors were presented with new approaches that provide governments with answers but at the same time open up new questions. Exhibits covered a landscape of solutions that are rapidly emerging and continuously evolving, raising the question of how governments can effectively explore and keep abreast of an increasingly wide array of tools and options. The Edge was a place of intellectual curiosity and willingness to experiment. Visitors walked out of the immersive journey with a desire to move to action and turn the “edge” into mainstream.

Our concept for the immersive environment was created from the intersection of planes on different axes. The strategic positioning of these planes throughout created enclosed clusters and helped define a journey in the space. Each cluster contained areas where visitors could explore the exhibits in a dynamic way. Walls, tables and plinths all seemed to unfold from the main structure enabling platforms for physical and digital stories.
